Advaray, Inc. (formerly BrachyFoam, LLC) is an early phase medical device startup company based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Advaray is currently engaged in the preclinical development of a hydrogel-based device to improve methods of image-guided pelvic brachytherapy. The company is funded by STTR awards (Phase I and Phase II) from the National Cancer Institute to support commercialization efforts.

Advaray products will be inspired by unmet clinical needs in image-guided brachytherapy and designed to improve patient care from the perspectives of both patients and their physicians. Advaray’s core technologies resulted from collaborations between UVA and Virginia Tech faculty and the company’s future growth will prioritize contributing to the economic growth and job opportunities within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
