Hui Wang, Ph.D.

Licensing Associate

Hui Wang joined the UVA Licensing & Ventures Group in March 2017 as a Licensing Analyst specializing in biomedical life sciences. Hui brings previous technology transfer experience and a fresh perspective to the licensing team. Hui is responsible for evaluating the patentability and marketability of specific assets created from UVA research.

Prior to joining LVG, Hui worked as an intern analyst for DevTech Partners providing consulting services to research institutes and early stage bioscience companies focused on furthering technology commercialization and business development. Before her work with DevTech, Hui completed a doctoral program in chemistry at Stony Brook University, where she investigated IAPP amyloid formation, a disease associated protein structural change process, and its role in type 2 diabetes. While pursuing her Ph.D., Hui worked as a graduate intern in the Office of Technology Licensing and Industry Relations at Stony Brook University.

Having recently relocated to Charlottesville from New Jersey, Hui is enjoying exploring the area and familiarizing herself with the burgeoning entrepreneurship networks in her new town.
