Heather M. Bansbach, Ph.D.

Licensing Associate

Heather Bansbach joined the UVA Licensing & Ventures Group in May 2017 as a Licensing Analyst, bringing her enthusiasm and passion for supporting breakthrough technologies within the healthcare industry to the team. Working predominately with technologies in physical sciences and engineering, Heather is responsible for evaluating the patentability and marketability of specific assets created from UVA research.

Prior to joining LVG, Heather worked with sciVelo at the University of Pittsburgh as a Jr. Commercial Translation Architect while pursuing her Ph.D. in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Her graduate studies included developing methods of quantifying postural stability using accelerometers for use in the prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries.

Having earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, Heather is excited to be back in Charlottesville and supporting the revolutionary research happening at her alma mater.
