Robert J. Decker
Rob Decker serves as general counsel for LVG and as special assistant to the state attorney general. Rob is responsible for drafting and prosecuting patents in the engineering disciplines, specifically electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering. He also supports the areas of material and computer science, and medical devices, as well as litigation and trademark procurement.
Rob also runs a law clinic on drafting and prosecuting patent applications for the UVA School of Law.
Prior to joining LVG, Rob served as US Patent Examiner at the US Patent and Trademark Office. Additionally, he was in private practice and served as in-house corporate counsel. Prior to entering patent law, Rob had a 10-year career in engineering.
