IP Management

• Acknowledge receipt of IP disclosures within three (3) business days
• Offer to meet with researcher(s) [inventors/authors] in-person or via videoconference within ten (10) business days of receipt of IP disclosures;
• Respond to researcher(s) on the disposition of the disclosure (file, not file, hold awaiting further research, or other next steps) within twenty-five (25) business days of receipt of written description of IP;
• Respond to a faculty inquiry about a start-up or other entrepreneurial activity within 2 business days.
• At the time of conversion of a provisional application, inform the researcher(s) about the LVG decision with fifteen (15) business days of the conversion date;
• LVG will respond to a researcher email who has a question of LVG with three (3) business days, even if just an acknowledgement;
• Respond to faculty who are seeking guidance on funding a company within three business days.

Royalties

• Respond to all inventor inquiries regarding distributions within three business days
• Barring special circumstances, royalties will be distributed to inventors and UVA in the fiscal quarter following receipt of funds, net of any previously unreimbursed patent prosecution costs

Compliance

• Respond to grant closeout inquiries within three business days
• Respond to new iEdison alerts within 45 calendar days of receipt
