LVG's FREE Tech Workshop Set for Oct. 29

The University of Virginia Licensing & Ventures Group's Fall 2026 Technology Commercialization Workshop will take place on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at LVG headquarters in Downtown Charlottesville (722 Preston Ave., Suite 107).

The free in-person workshop, which includes dinner, is intended for current UVA graduate students, research residents and post-doctoral fellows. It will be of particular interest to those in life sciences, biomedical engineering and engineering.

During this workshop, participants will gain insight into the technology transfer process, which requires broad scientific expertise, business insight and legal acumen to convert basic research into practical applications. LVG will explain all elements of intellectual property management and participants will learn the necessary steps involved in effectively protecting and commercializing the results of scientific research.
